Let's now take a look at the ten best conversations in and rank them. THEGAMER VIDEO OF THE DAY

Arthur & Sadie

Arthur Morgan had a relationship that felt akin to that of a father and a daughter. He simply wanted to help her become accustomed to her new life after her old one was taken from her along with everything she owned and loved. They were trusting enough to get real with one another, but at the same time loved poking fun at one another. Sadie tells Arthur that he's one of the best men she's ever known, and Arthur smugly replies by letting her know it isn't tough competition considering the company she keeps.

Hosea & Lenny

The relationship between Hosea Matthews and Lenny Summers is interesting and dynamic considering they're each the oldest and youngest members of the gang, respectively. When you as the player hear them talking about wanting to be buried next to one another, part of you hopes it isn't foreshadowing. Later in the game, as things spiral out of control in Saint Denis, reality hits you as the two of them pass away. Thankfully everyone was listening to their morbid conversation and made their wish come true.

Sadie & John

During the epilogue of players get to search and find surviving members of the Van Der Linde Gang who have moved on to a new life. John Marston can find Sadie Adler, widow turned bounty hunter, and the two can team up for a handful of adventures with one another. Where Arthur and Sadie had a mentor and mentee relationship, she and John are closer in age so it's similar to two close friends. John jokes about her bounties getting stolen, and in typical Sadie fashion, she threatens to punch him in the face.

Dutch & Kieran

Kieran is an interesting character in the narrative of . He's a man who's captured as an asset in the feud between the Van Der Linde Gang and the O'Driscolls. Unfortunately, he's often the subject of ridicule and/or torture at the hands of one of the two gang leaders and ultimately meets his demise. Before that, though, Dutch welcomes him into the gang by threatening him and letting him know that the Van Der Linde Gang is better and more dangerous than any other gang who claims to be as such.

Arthur & John

The first of two important conversations between John and Arthur revolves around the folding of the Van Der Linde Gang and how Arthur wants John to live a better life with Abigail. Arthur pleads with John to just take his family and leave. John, as he takes in what Arthur is saying asks "Well, what about loyalty." In response to that question, Arthur answers back with one of the most poignant statements he'll ever utter when he replies "Be loyal to what matters." Arthur ends the conversation by letting John know that when the time comes John needs to run and never look back.

Rains Fall & Eagle Flies

Parents burying their children is something that happens today but was much more common at the turn of the last century. Indigenous people have been fighting for their rights and land for as long as Europeans have inhabited the continent. Eagle Flies and his son, Rains Fall, showcase how different generations hold different levels of patience and perspective. When Rains Fall decides to go against his father's wishes and chooses violence over peace, you see a father start to reconcile with the idea of his son possibly not coming home.

Dutch & Arthur

People often talk about the heartbreaking moments in , but they often leave out the relationship between Dutch and Arthur. They begin in a place where Dutch is Arthur's father figure and leader, but as Dutch loses his grip on reality, that bond becomes meaningless to Dutch. You can tell it hurts Arthur to see someone he respected and trusted deteriorate into his worst habits. Arthur, in his dying breath, murmuring "I gave you all I had, I really did," will cut you to your core.

Arthur & Micah

Ever since Arthur saved Micah Bell from a prison cell in Strawberry, they've had a relationship where they walked on eggshells around one another. As Arthur is laying on his back and fighting his inevitable demise, he still has enough energy to strike Micah at his core. Players quickly realize that what ate Micah alive the most about Arthur was that Arthur was a genuinely good person. Micah goes out of his way to say that he knows Arthur is just as filthy and rotten as he is, but Arthur knows how far away from the truth that is.

John & Arthur

Arthur and John have such a strong relationship that it only felt right to include multiple entries featuring the two on a list comprised of the best conversations in . As they both reach the summit of the Grizzlies East mountains during the climax of the game, Arthur breaks the sad reality to John that, not only does one of them need to stay back, but Arthur isn't long for this world. This is also the moment where Arthur places his hat on John's head as they see each other for the last time.

Arthur & Sister

Easily the most iconic conversation in all of happens to be one players can completely miss. If Arthur has a good enough moral standing he'll have a conversation with Sister Calderon in which he faces his mortality and where he stands morally in a world gone awry. Not only does this conversation put Arthur's journey into perspective for the player, but it sheds light on his past and unveils details Arthur was often uncomfortable with sharing. It will likely bring tears to your eyes if you're invested in the narrative.
