15 Unresolved Mysteries And Plot Holes Teen Titans Left Hanging
Teen Titans was an amazing show that ended way too soon. Its cancellation left us with more questions than answers. Just look at these 15 mysteries! Teen Titans was a great show that took all of our favorite teen heroes and put them together, and the results were amazing. The series was awesome at combining serious and intense story arcs with fun and crazy comedy. It also did a great job of blending American animation with the stylistic Japanese animation style. It ended up becoming a very popular show with millions of fans. Which is why it was so tragic when the final season got canceled for no really good reason (some say it was due to lack of toy sales, while others say it was because the female fan base was getting too big, which wasn’t fitting their marketing strategy). Teen Titans was originally going to have 6 seasons, and the writers were actually working on it and had it planned. But Cartoon Network canceled the show. And now, over ten years later, fans are still angry about it, and I don’t blame them. The problem with a canceled series is that it results in many unanswered questions and mysteries that the show never addressed. Whether it was about a certain character’s origins, or what had happened to another character, Teen Titans did leave a lot of unresolved stories. And I think that’s why so many fans were angry with the cancellation. There was so much that we wanted to know, and so many stories that never got told. So here are 15 unresolved mysteries and plot holes that Teen Titans left hanging. Think we missed some important ones? Be sure to let us know in the comments below! THEGAMER VIDEO OF THE DAY Her Fate Is A Little Unclear
Via: gretlusky.deviantart.com, pinterest.com Terra’s saga has been quite the interesting story that has surfaced a few times throughout the series. It seemed like her story had ended with Terra sacrificing herself to stop a volcano from erupting and subsequently turning herself into stone. But then the last episode of Teen Titans happened. In this one, Beast Boy finds out Terra is back and alive, but she seems to have forgotten her memories. As he tries to talk to her and remind her of who she is, she tells him that she likes her life the way it is right now. But there are hints that Terra is remembering more than she’s letting on. Was she supposed to have another story arc? Was there a plan for her and Beast Boy to get back together? Well, now we’ll never know. Just What Was In There
Via: teentitans.wikia.com Robin, in general, is a bit of a mystery to the other Teen Titans. He’s pretty closed off and doesn’t like to talk about himself that much, so his comrades don’t know a lot about him. But the biggest mystery is a briefcase that started a crazy race. In the episode “Revved Up,” Ding Dong Daddy steals a briefcase containing Robin’s prized possessions and offers it to whoever can beat him in a race. So, the Teen Titans furiously race other villains to help Robin get the briefcase back. In the end, Robin does show his friends the contents of the briefcase, but the audience never sees it. There’s been a lot of speculation to what the briefcase contained (maybe more on Robin’s backstory, his days as the circus, etc.), but we’ll never know what was in there. What Is That Thing
Via: teentitans.wikia.com The last episode of Teen Titans was a bit of a strange one. Not only was Beast Boy dealing with a revived Terra who had forgotten everything, but the Teen Titans were up against a new villain. This villain was rather interesting since it could absorb any material and become it. It proved to be a challenge for our heroes, especially since they didn’t have Beast Boy, and the worst part is that this new monster got away. Since this was the last episode, we never find out more about this villain. What was it? Was it a person, or a non-sentient monster? Where did it come from? What would the Teen Titans need to do to defeat it? There were so many questions surrounding this new villain, and none of them got answered. Seriously Who Was This Guy
Via: what-the-gaff.deviantart.com, qkung.deviantart.com Red X was a very interesting villain that was quite the antagonist for Robin. He was practically a representation of one of Robin’s biggest mistakes as a Titan. The suit that Red X wears was the suit that Robin used to try and get close to Slade to figure out his plan. In the end, Robin almost lost his life and the trust of his friends. So he put away the Red X suit for good. But then someone broke in and stole it. This mystery person then used it to steal various other things. While Robin did manage to beat him, he still got away. He shows up a couple of times throughout the series, but we never find out who this guy is. Some speculate that it’s Jason Todd, the second Robin, but the timelines don’t match up. One thing’s for certain, Red X will continue to remain a mystery. The OTP That Never Became Canon
Via: aku-no-hana2.deviantart.com Thanks to the movie Teen Titans: Trouble in Tokyo, we know that Starfire and Robin end up together (finally), and it’s a rather satisfying ending. But that led fans to wonder about some of their other ships, mainly Raven and Beast Boy. The show had been hinting that there was something potentially going on between our favorite changeling and princess of darkness. But it never came to fruition, at least in the TV show series. Apparently, their relationship was going to be explored more in the 6th season, but then it got canceled. It’s a shame since I think their relationship would have been really fun to explore more. They definitely had a married couple vibe going on. It also would’ve been nice to see Raven’s sweeter side, as well as Beast Boy’s. No Love For Cyborg
Via: pinterest.com While out of the main Teen Titans, there were two favorite pairings (Starfire and Robin, Beast Boy and Raven), Cyborg never seemed to be really shipped with anybody. That led to many fans wondering if our awesome cyborg ever ended up with a love interest. Yeah, there were a few girls, such as Jinx, Bumblebee, and Sarasim. But nothing really happened with them. Cyborg seemed to be one of those guys who was just content working on his car, playing video games, or hanging out with his friends. Maybe the big guy isn’t really looking for a relationship at the moment. Which is cool. I do kind of like he wasn’t really paired with anyone just for the sake of pairing. But I think a lot of people wondered if he ever found love. We re Not Sure Where This Sibling Is
Via: pinterest.com, hinataeloyntoph.deviantart.com Blackfire is definitely not the best example of family. She betrayed Starfire multiple times, tried to arrange to sell Starfire into slavery, got her arrested for a crime she committed, and tried to marry her off. This sister is someone you really shouldn’t trust. But what happened to her? After the fiasco that was Starfire’s “wedding,” Blackfire was banished from Tamaran, and that’s pretty much the last we hear from her in the show. I think many fans wanted to know what she was up to, or at least what became of her. Was she just wandering the galaxy? Was she on Earth laying low? Did she have plans for revenge on Starfire? I think I’d be a little antsy if my crazy sister was just out there doing who knows what. Someone Is Missing Here
Via: comicvine.gamespot.com The attack of the Brotherhood of Evil was a big part of Season 5, and it involved nearly the destruction of the Teen Titans and of the world. But the Titans did prevail and take down this villainous organization in a pretty epic battle. But many fans had one question: Where were the other superhero organizations, like Doom Patrol, or even the Justice League? You’d think with the fact that these villains captured a ton of the younger heroes, the older teams would have done something about it. Especially since Doom Patrol had often done battle with the Brotherhood of Evil. Just where were they during this skirmish? Maybe the Justice League was off-world at the time. Or maybe they just didn’t know what was going on. We Don t Know Much About This Hero
Via: charlottesketches.deviantart.com By the end of the series, we have a good idea of what the main five Teen Titans are like. We’ve also gotten a bit of backstory on them, and have seen what they’ve gone through to become the heroes they are today. Well, except for Cyborg and Robin. Robin’s backstory is there, even though he doesn’t really talk about it much. We know that he was Batman’s sidekick and that he left Gotham. We also get hints to his life in flashbacks. But we know practically nothing about Cyborg. The most we got in a flashback is that he had an “accident.” And that’s pretty much it. It makes sense since Cyborg is a bit touchy about how he became mostly robot, but many fans wanted to see at least one episode that took a look at his life before the accident. It would’ve been interesting. How Is This Guy Even Alive
Via: pics-about-space.com, comicvine.gamespot.com Red Star is a very interesting and rather tragic character. He starts out as a Russian soldier who was experimented on. As a result, his body gives out massive amounts of radiation, so he chose to live in exile to protect others from him. When Starfire meets him, she convinces him to not be afraid of his power and to embrace it. But he absorbs too much power from another plasma creature and asks Starfire to take him to space so he can release that power safely. The episode ends with the implication that Red Star is gone. But here’s where fans get confused. In later episodes, Red Star is back, and it’s never explained why. I guess he gained control of his powers and somehow made it back to Earth, but it’s quite the mystery. This Villain Just Vanished
Via: thephantomslegend.deviantart.com Throughout most of the series, Slade has been a rather prominent villain that proved to be a real threat to our heroes. He terrorized both Robin and Raven, and he was often pretty successful in defeating the Teen Titans and toying with them. But the question fans had at the end of the series was, what happened to Slade? The last we saw of him was at the end of Raven’s arc with Trigon. After Slade gets his body back, he walks away and we never see him again. He’s not part of the Brotherhood of Evil (that’s not that surprising since he tends to work alone), so he never showed up for that showdown. Fans couldn’t help but wonder what became of him? Did he just give up and go off on his own? Was he laying low and biding his time? Something tells me he wasn’t done with the Teen Titans just yet. Robin Is A Closed Book
Via: theoriginalmistajonz.deviantart.com, lele899.deviantart.com We more or less knew the civilian identities of the main Titans, which gave us a bit of a look into their lives. Granted, in this series, the Teen Titans were heroes pretty much 24/7, so the need for a secret identity wasn’t huge. But that being said, we still never officially found out Robin’s true identity. While we do get hints of Robin’s backstory through a couple of lines he’s said and some flashbacks, we never really find out who he is. It’s strongly hinted that he’s Dick Grayson, the first Robin, and the timing would match up with that. But it’s never actually said who Robin was before he became Robin. The guy also practically stays in his uniform 24/7, and we’ve never seen him without the mask. You can’t really blame him for being paranoid, but it also wouldn’t hurt him to open up a bit. This Mother Is Quite The Mystery
Via; pinterest.com Raven’s backstory is a rather incredible, if very sad one, with her father being a very powerful demon. We learned a fair amount about Trigon, Raven’s father, but we don’t know a ton about her mother. We do know that Raven’s mother, Arella, was tricked by Trigon and was used by him. She knew that Raven was destined to a prophecy that would end in the destruction of the world, and yet, she still loved her daughter. The thing is, we don’t really know what became of Arella after the whole Trigon fiasco. Supposedly, she was destroyed along with Azarath and the Earth during Trigon’s raid but was restored when Raven overthrew Trigon. And that’s all we know. I’d love to see another episode that focused on Raven’s relationship with her mother. How Did These Guys Survive
Via: raven-jinx.deviantart.com The Mother Mae-Eye episode, in general, is pretty strange, where the Teen Titans are tricked by this seemingly nice lady who takes care of them like a mother. But she had sinister plans to bake the Teen Titans into a pie. She was stopped, thanks to Starfire, and the Titans wondered what to do with the pie that she came in. They decided to drop it off at the lair of the H.I.V.E students, who then fall under the spell of Mother Mae-Eye. The thing is, in later episodes, the H.I.V.E. students are back and seemingly just fine. So, what happened? Did they figure out she was trying to eat them and stop her? How did this group of villains escape the other villain? It’s not a huge mystery, but it was definitely a point that fans wondered about a bit. Where Did These Two Come From
Via: pinterest.com The Teen Titans East were a rather fun group of superheroes that were dedicated to protecting their city, much like the original Teen Titans. And we knew each hero and, to an extent, where they came from and their stories. Well, all except for two heroes: Mas and Menos. These little speedsters pretty much came out of nowhere. In fact, they were created specifically for the show, so they don’t even have any comic book origins. And that’s the thing: we hardly know anything about them, other than they can run fast and that they only speak Spanish. Where did these two come from? How did they get their powers? Where are their parents (the two seem to be pretty young)? There’s a lot we don’t know about these twins, and it would’ve been cool to learn more about them.
