Weirdness Samus amiibo Literally Opens Doors in Russian Metro Station
Weirdness: Samus amiibo Literally Opens Doors in Russian Metro Station Nintendo Life NFC it in action by Share: Update: — naturally being a site frequented by many gamers from Europe — has been contacted by a reader in Moscow to explain that while amiibo does interact with the gates to the Metro, it doesn't actually open them up. You see the green light, though: The confusion here is that the gates in Moscow metro seem to be opened all the time, but in fact they're actually closed. You need to place your card on the reader to 'unlock' it and go past them. If you don't, the gates quickly shuts right before you, possibly injuring your private parts. You can see that green light disappear really quickly - it's supposed to stay green until you're past the gates. Samus does work on the Moscow Metro, sort of, she just won't get you past the gate. Original Article: Moscow's Metro has been invaded by tiny plastic Nintendo characters, thanks to their NFC technology being sufficient to open the station's ticket barriers. One Nintendo fan discovered this apparent issue and posted a video on Instagram (which you can see below) proving that their Samus amiibo could get them past the ticket barrier. It's entirely possible that the toy has been tinkered with and had its NFC technology replaced with that of a travel card, but we'd like to think that the bounty hunter's habit of opening just about any door has bled into the real world. Just imagine the doors that the dual-wielding factory error Samus amiibo could open. Are you itching to try this out in your local station? We'd advise against it, but let us know in the comments if you plan to do it anyway! ] Share: About Alex is the man responsible for the daily videos you'll find on our YouTube channel. Excitable and fuelled by coffee alone, his floppy hair has charmed many a sceptic into subscribing. Comments ) Metro ID = Metroid, clever. With the right missile upgrades, this lady can open any door. If this is real, its awsome Could also be that he wrote his ticket data on the amiibo Shame, the subways in my town uses swipe cards. ...Looks like some "Really Fun Interpersonal Discussion"! Seriously, though, America is decades behind the rest of the "1st world" countries in technology for public transportation. Our current stuff was being used in the 90s, amiibo NFC is too new to do anything like that here. That might be a good thing in one way, though. RFID is becoming a larger issue in America, and it's easy for a scanner to steal information like passport, ID and credit card info just by brushing by on a crowded city street. (Unless you're carrying them in an anodized aluminum or carbon plate wallet or something.) The Mythbusters being blocked by Beyond Productions and their possibly related business partners from investigating more into RFID possibilities (even though it's just a "for fun" show) was enough to prove there is a lot going on in the RFID and NFC field that is not well known to the public. Who knows what an RFID amiibo amoeba could be able to do...? Almost certainly modified, but still really funny. Okay, this is likely a mod, but in the remote case it's real... Will Nintendo have to pay all the missed tickets? >W>;;; LMAO that says it all! so amiibos do actually have a use The NFC chip from a metro card has just been put underneath or inside the amiibo. Thats all. I wonder what the Mario Amiibo can do . . . This sounds a little like the SMT Overclocked story (well some of it anyways) where the government was planting these type of devices in electronics. They where going to use them to in a sense melt all of Tokyo from a demon invasion. In this case I can see all Amiibo's working in Nintendo's favor and destroying all of the competitions systems. So if you see any of your Amiibo's melted then you might want to check all your other systems! Assuming the whole Metro card is not etched in layers like a circuit board. I don't know about that particular Russian Metro pass, but an American Metro card wouldn't work anymore if it were cut up to fit into an amiibo, even around the gold contact. Use Links sword It doesn't open the doors. The people in video say in russian that it doesn't work. Ticket Barrier reacts to NFC but doesn't open the door. People, it seems like it works in the video with all of the green lights, but it actually doesn't. The sound the machine makes indicates that it didn't work and not only that, but the guy says it himself - "Не работает" "Doesn't work". They used the chips in every microwave, x-ray, infrared ray, and ultraviolet ray device. Kind of a far-fetched prospect, especially with the blackout. (Would they turn the power back on to do it? Did they let people die in hospitals for no good reason?) But maybe it would start a lot of fires! (Not like Belial would mind.) Another victom of vertical video syndrome. Everyone talks about Ebola these days, while legions of young men and women around the globe fall prey to the vicious disease that is VVS. What has the world come to ... Lol, hey it was the first thing that came to my mind reading this article. You will gain Major Access to Restricted Ingresses in Ohio. Samus shooting microwaves!? That's an idea for Metroid U! If you shoot laser beams in the game, then you shoot microwave beams for real! My God! Nintendo finally made the first system that could possibly work as a toaster!
Nah the government was just being led around like an idiot. Belial won't be around to enjoy it. Chaotic Good path for the win! How did it come to an SMT Overclocked discussion anyway? I love that game! Although it manages to downplay a grim situation behind bright colours and whatnot. On topic, apparently this Amiibo ID didn't work. It's an Instagram video, so you can't really take vertical or horizontal videos. It's always square. Maybe this is quality of life lol. Cook food with Amiibo's lol! It's Samus, duh. Oh ninty, you just made a way to have a train ride for cheap. "Just imagine the doors that the dual-wielding factory error Samus amiibo could open." Hahahaha good one, NL! Now it makes that $10,000 price tag seem worth it Just been told my daddy kong amiibo I'd being delayed till December .... That looks illegal, but cool! I REALLY want a duel wielding Samus.... Forward to the london underground >>>>>>> Excellent Is that really square though?
I had no idea instagram does videos, anyways, if that's the only option, that is pretty cra**y and no better than the your typical vvs-riddled phone vid :-/ Their images and videos are 640x640, so yes I'd say they're pretty square Let the "in Russia" jokes commence! My phone has NFC as does my VISA, so they would also make the light go green.
Sadly they don't work on the NFC on the gamepad on MK8... Perhaps, they could partner with Nintendo to create limited-edition Metroid Metro IDs, eh? "Just imagine the doors that the dual-wielding factory error Samus amiibo could open." Haha! Amazing! Ok, Samus amiibo opens electronic doors in the most famous modern tunnel system, the russian metro
Thats almost too good to be a coincidence. What would be even better: A Master Key Amiibo doing that
Making the puzzle solved sound whenever it connects A'ight, but square and sub-HD is really horrible enough in it's own right ^^ My credit card has a near field chip in it although most vendors are slow to adopt it. One day at a convenient store, I swiped my entire wallet across the card scanner and it approved it, without even removing my card! You put too much faith in humanity. I usually take the Neutral path myself. "The epitome of annui", as it were. It's nice and peaceful! (Only at the end, though...) The convenience is good, the security measures still need some kinks worked out, though. Humanity can do amazing things, if we are in unity.
Yea but that path is the most boring. Plus no epic 8th day. I still have to complete Atsuro's route, even when I have played the game 8 times.... That is how those routes seem like to me. Thanks to the update for clarity. The metro system merely detects the object but doesn't actually accept it. Just like when I swiped my Wizard Mickey into Mario Kart 8, the game detected, but did not recognize it. Reading your last sentence proves I have a very dirty mind. XD Yeah, I'm a fan of puns myself, but I can assure you nothing was intended in the last statement. Leave A Comment Hold on there, you need to to post a comment...
