The late night television host confirmed the diagnosis on social media yesterday, ahead of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon's return from its hiatus over the holidays. Jimmy said he received a positive test result shortly after the show's hiatus began mid-way through last month.

"Hey guys, on the first day of our holiday break I tested positive for Covid," he captioned an Instagram post, which pictured him wearing a face mask inside a room reserved for virus testing. "What'chu Talkin' About, Willis?," Gary Coleman's popular catchphrase-turned-meme from Diff'rent Strokes, is printed on the wall in his photo.

"I was vaccinated and boostered, which made me lucky enough to only have mild symptoms," Jimmy shared, adding, "Thank you to the doctors and nurses who work so hard around the clock to get everyone vaxxed. Thank you to NBC for taking the testing protocols so seriously and doing a great job — and also thanks for putting me in the 'What'chu talkin' about Willis?' isolation room when they told me the news."
