As you might have heard, there's a Party Down reboot in the works!

Starz / Giphy / Via giphy.com This super-underrated comedy gem ran for just two seasons from 2009 to 2010 and starred a pre-Parks and Rec Adam Scott. Following a group of struggling actors (and writers) in Los Angeles who also work as caterers, the series also featured Jane Lynch, Lizzy Caplan, Ken Marino, Martin Starr, Jennifer Coolidge, Megan Mullally, and lots of other Big Hollywood names.
The reboot was first announced by Starz last year, and it's officially going into production this month. Here's everything else we know...

Unfortunately, Lizzy Caplan won't be in the revival due to scheduling conflicts. She's currently filming Hulu's Fleishman Is in Trouble.

According to Adam, who is executive producing Season 3, the coming episodes will take place during the present day (as opposed to picking right up where Season 2 left off).

Chicago Tribune / TNS / Getty Images Adam recently told Collider: “It’s great. It’s gonna be a really fun. We’re just getting everything together. We start shooting in the middle of January, so we’re getting directors and we’re really putting in the work to get the season up and running. It’s just surreal to actually be doing it, after so long. It’s been like 12 years. It’s gonna be so much fun. Everyone is super excited to get back to it and just can’t wait. Yeah. We’re not gonna be like, it’s two weeks later, or anything like that. I think that that would be a bit of a stretch."
Season 3 will consist of six 30-minute episodes.

Series co-creators Rob Thomas, John Enbom, Paul Rudd, and Dan Etheridge are also back executive producers.

The reboot became a reality after the cast reunited in 2019 for a panel discussion at Vulture Festival LA in November 2019.

Charley Gallay / Getty Images for New York Magazine "I’m thinking the next year or two we’ll explore a way to get the gang back together again," co-creator Dan Etheridge revealed during the discussion.
That's pretty much all we know so far. But I think I speak for everyone when I say that we ARE having fun (yet).
