HBO Max / Via media.giphy.com Those who've been watching the SATC reboot since it debuted in December know several of the original series' mainstays, including Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon, and Kristin Davis, returned to reprise their characters.

It turns out this particular storyline was rooted in David's real-life experience with hearing loss, as writer Elisa Zuritsky recently explained in an interview with Vanity Fair.

"That actually wound up being Steve's tone about his aging," said Elisa, before praising both David and his SATC character.
