Kim Kardashian filed for divorce from Kanye West last February, after almost seven years of marriage.

But during an appearance on Hollywood Unlocked this week, the Yeezy designer said media reports "flipped" the story to suggest "there was something wrong with [him] getting a house next to [his] kids."
Pierre Suu / Getty Images Kanye went on to explain that he chose a residential location close to Kim's home because doing so meant his children would still live nearby. "My solace comes from seeing my kids and getting a solid schedule," he shared. "That's why I even got the house."

But choosing to live in the same zip code as your ex partner, and choosing to live on the same street, are really two different things. Kanye previously referenced his and Kim's kids when discussing their divorce on Revolt's Drink Champs YouTube series in November. At the time, he said he wanted their parents to "be together."
