Square Enix Still Supporting Babylon’ s Fall Despite No Players 20 May 2022 by Oisin Kuhnke Babylon’s Fall is not doing very well for itself, but Square Enix has committed to further updates for the game. When we say Babylon’s Fall isn’t doing very well, we meen it. Earlier this month, the concurrent player count fell all the way to one single player. For a live service game, that’s an upsettingly low number of players. Now, in a recent interview held on Square Enix’s website, directors Kenji Saito and Takahisa Sugiyama spoke of future plans for the game. One of the biggest complaints for the game have been the muddy visuals. But according to the interview, this is one of the first things that will be addressed.ADVERT ADVERT The game originally opted for an oil painting style look, though many players felt it made the game hard to read. “The team had not managed to do enough testing on the graphics, especially the visibility aspect and how that could create stress for players repeatedly playing an action game over a long period,” said Sugiyama. what other problems did babylon’ s fall face The directors also spoke about how one of the biggest challenges they faced was it being a live service game. Saito explained how it was difficult due to this being the first online game that Platinum Games developed. As well as the pandemic causing a number of other issues. And it will also introduce a new weapon type, with a new limited time event too. Game development is incredibly hard, especially under the conditions many have faced over the past few years. It’s good to know that the Babylon’s Fall team is able to work at improving the game. Even if there only is one player.
