How to use a Remote Raid Pass in Poké mon Go If you want to raid remotely in Pokémon Go, you must first purchase a Remote Raid Pass from the in-game store. With pass in hand, you can join a raids remotely by either using the Nearby tab or by selecting a gym that contains a raid on the overworld map. Using the Nearby tab is both the easier and more effective option, because it will allow you to see a wider selection of raids. You can also use apps like Poke Genie to join a raid remotely from anywhere across the world. After you've selected which raid you wish to join, you'll find yourself looking at the familiar raid screen. The only difference, however, is that the regular button for joining a raid has been replaced with a pink one, which will allow you to join in exchange for a Remote Raid Pass. If you do decide to join the raid, then selecting your team, battling the raid boss and enjoying your rewards (if you win that is...) will all occur just like how they would if you were raiding normally. Up to five players can join a raid remotely and, if this limit is reached, any players that try to join remotely afterwards will be placed in a new lobby. Remote Raids and Remote Raid Passes in Poké mon Go explained Remote Raids allow you to use a Remote Raid Pass to join a raids in Pokémon Go from the comfort of your own home; no longer do you have to stand in the rain to catch that Legendary Pokémon or risk being attacked by birds. With a few limitations, Remote Raiding functions exactly the same as raiding does when you're at the physical location of the gym. Viewing raids remotely also allows you to collect your free Raid Pass for that day, which is incredibly useful if you're down a pass, but don't have the time to collect it. This means that, if you're planning on joining a raid remotely, you should take this damage reduction into account when choosing your Pokémon team. Limitations of Remote Raiding in Poké mon Go explained Unlike regular raids in Pokémon Go, there are a number of limitations attached to Remote Raiding. Firstly, if you want to join a raid remote, then you will need a Remote Raid Pass. You can only carry three Remote Raid Passes at one time, so try to use them quickly. The second limitation is that only five players can join a raid using a Remote Raid Pass. This decision is presumably to allow a degree of fairness between those who are still using the regular raiding system. This doesn't mean, however, that you can't compete in this specific raid if the limitation has been reached. Instead, you'll simply be placed in a new lobby and will have to either invite or wait for more players to join you. The third and final limimitation is that Remote Raid Pass player deal less damage when compared to players who join the raid from its physical location. For this reason, it's always a good idea to pick your Pokémon team carefully if you're planning on joining a raid remotely.
