One Piece Chapter 1044 Leaks – The Cover Story

The cover story of this week once again focuses on Oven. However, this time around, he is leaving for an expedition along with Big Mom. He is possibly departing for the land of Wano. Oven has left the book open with the pages of Niji and Yonji. Although Oven has left, some of his siblings including Prim, Kato, Brownie and Anana are still there. They open the book and research the bodies of Yonji and Niji. There isn’t anything about Big Mom and her status in this week’s story.

Awakening

In the beginning of the chapter, we see Luffy talking but his full body isn’t shown. He wonders how he can get up even though he was defeated. He says that he suddenly feels so much fun. A black lightening starts coming out of Luffy and some of his allies start feeling his presence. We turn back to Gorosei who discuss about Luffy’s devil fruit. Gomu Gomu No Mi hasn’t awakened in 800 years. And since it’s Zoan type devil fruit, it has been running away from them since it has its spirit. That’s why they had to sacrifice one of their agents. Orochi s Demise

We go to Hiyori and Orochi and Orochi tells her that he did all of it because of Kaido and he appreciated Oden. Orochi tells her that even if she kills him, she and others don’t stand a chance against Kaido. Hiyori slowly removes her mask and shows her true identity. We get a little emotional flashback of Hiyori with Oden. A little part of Kazenbou arrives and informs Orochi that he has failed. Orochi asks him to attack Hiyori but instead he approaches him and burns him.

Gear 5th

Luffy says that he feels like he can do anything he wants. His supreme King haki knocks out various Beast Pirates. Luffy grabs Kaido in his dragon form and slams him on the ground. Kaido becomes dizzy and starts seeing stars around his head. He then gets up and asks if Luffy is still alive and apologizes of his earlier win. Then he uses Bolo Breath but Luffy turns the ground into rubber and reflects it in his gear 5th form. Luffy remarks to end this battle soon. What are your thoughts on this chapter?
