YOU Magazine Fashion Beauty Celebrity Health Life Relationships Horoscopes Food Interiors Travel Home Fashion The fashion brands that the royal family love By You Magazine - May 17, 2018 Want to dress like a royal? We’ve got the lowdown on what’s in their closets. With all eyes on the royal family this weekend, we’re all about where they are and what they’re wearing – specifically, three in particular. Style commentators recently christened Meghan, Kate and Princess Charlotte ‘the royal influencers’ for the extraordinary effect their fashion choices have on consumers. From power coats, to cute cardigans, it’s practically a cast-iron guarantee that any item donned by this trinity will fly off the shelves or sell out online in seconds. But which brands are they most likely to be styled in? We investigate the best of the brands beloved by the Windsors (and Windsor-to-be)… Meghan Markle Getty Images Heritage British brand Burberry has quickly become one of Meghan’s go-tos, not least for the part it’s played in her ‘power coat trend’, exemplified in the long double-breasted tartan coat she wore for her visit to Edinburgh (searches for Burberry coat increased by 120% on Lyst after her outing). Her mother Doria Ragland is said to be wearing Burberry for this weekend’s nuptials after she was spotted with a Burberry garment bag. Misha Nonoo is one of Meghan’s closest friends, (and was even mooted as the friend behind her set-up with Harry), so it’s no surprise her eponymous line has become a firm favourite. Meghan wore her ‘Husband’ shirt for her first public appearance with Prince Harry at the Invictus Games in Toronto. And while Meghan opted for sky-high nude Aquazzura shoes for her engagement photo-call with Harry, she’s been a long-time fan of the brand, previously purchasing a black pair to wear to a conference in 2016. Kate the Duchess of Cambridge Getty Images Sarah Burton’s designs at Alexander McQueen have become renowned as Kate’s preferred looks ever since she walked down the aisle in her stunning lace wedding dress – she’s also stepped out in smart coats, lavish ballgowns and chic dresses by the designer. The quickest way to put a Kate twist on your look? Add in a piece or two by jeweller Monica Vinader, whose earrings and necklaces Kate has donned on multiple occasions, including her tour of Canada in 2016. High-street brand L.K. Bennett has become synonymous with Kate’s style. Nude heels aside (Kate loves the ‘Sledge’ style), she’s also a fan of their floral and printed dresses to many of her royal engagements. Princess Charlotte Getty Images The youngest royal influencer has been setting trends since a very early ages – after she wore one of Rachel Riley’s blue party dresses for the royal tour of Berlin in July 2017, Lyst reported a 149% spike in searches. Kate’s schoolfriend Alice Avenel is the designer behind childrenswear brand Little Miss Alice, whose floral frock Princess Charlotte wore to meet her new baby brother Louis earlier this year. And there’s nothing like trusty John Lewis for essential baby-girl bits. Charlotte wore one of their all-in-one rompers for her first skiing holiday while the yellow sheep-patterned cardigan she wore in her second birthday portrait sold out.
