YOU Magazine Fashion Beauty Celebrity Health Life Relationships Horoscopes Food Interiors Travel Home Celebrity Prince George may have had a hand in naming his baby cousin Archie By You Magazine - May 8, 2019 Prince Harry and Meghan have revealed the name of their son, and isn’t it a gorgeous one? Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor was introduced to the world today, and as always, the royal baby name has got everyone talking. Archie is a Scottish moniker which means ‘true and bold’, a fitting choice for a child in line for the throne. But there’s also another sweet family story behind the name Archie – and it’s all to do with his cousin, Prince George. Getty Images Back in January, a story began circulating about a bystander who ran into the eldest Cambridge out on a walk in Berkshire with his little sister and grandma, Carole Middleton. Speaking to The Sun, the woman revealed: ‘I was asked by a police minder not to take a photo of the children, which I didn’t, but George started stroking my dog. Just to be friendly I engaged in a bit of small talk and I asked George what his name was, even though I obviously knew.’ As for George’s response? ‘To my astonishment, he said, “I’m called Archie,” with a big smile on his face,’ she explained. ‘I don’t know why he calls himself Archie but kids often play with their names and I think it’s lovely’ – and clearly aunt Meghan and uncle Harry agree. Getty Images Now, we’re not saying Prince George was solely responsible for the choice, but we love the idea that he might have provided a little inspiration for the new addition to the family. Meanwhile, many fans have noticed that the newborn’s middle name, Harrison, is not a traditional royal choice, but could be a play on words – quite literally, Harry’s son. Either way, we predict Archie, which was already number 11 on the most popular baby name charts for 2019, seeing even more of a surge in the months to come… RELATED ARTICLESMORE FROM AUTHOR 50 of the best celebrity Halloween costumes of all time Shirley Ballas ‘ Strictly gave me back my hope’ Davina McCall discusses how men can help women going through the menopause Popular in Celebrity TV chef Gino D Acampo on Sardinia Sophia Loren and scary salads May 25, 2017 The Evergreen Goddess Exercise guru Diana Moran on looking fit and July 10, 2017 More more Julianne Moore November 13, 2017 Author Jill Mansell on designer notebooks commissioning art and the family January 16, 2018 EMOTIONAL TIES Kelly Hoppen on vodka vintage finds and being a April 4, 2018 ‘ I have no regrets’ Millie Mackintosh on divorce debt and reuniting May 20, 2018 EMOTIONAL TIES TV presenter and tennis player Annabel Croft shares her July 1, 2018 Stella Parton ‘ Dolly and I have always been close’ August 12, 2018 Anna Friel on getting jeered in the street shared parenting with September 23, 2018 Queen of primetime Charlotte Riley on juggling rising stardom with pregnancy October 21, 2018 Popular CategoriesFood2704Life2496Fashion2240Beauty1738Celebrity1261Interiors684 Sign up for YOUMail Thanks for subscribing Please check your email to confirm (If you don't see the email, check the spam box) Fashion Beauty Celebrity Life Food Privacy & Cookies T&C Copyright 2022 - YOU Magazine.
