As you'd expect, maverick former ESPN anchor Robin Roberts — a SportsCenter host when women rarely worked as sportscasters — doesn't like to lose. So after her diagnosis with breast cancer in 2007, the Good Morning America cohost fought the disease publicly, speaking frankly about her condition on air and even occasionally forsaking her wig while on chemotherapy. "She kicked the cancer on its ass," says her pal Martina Navratilova, a fellow breast cancer survivor. "And she did it with a smile on her face."
