AARP OK - The Great Oklahoma Photo Contest of 2011 Arts & Leisure
Oklahoma is really a great place to live! From the rolling hills of Green Country to the distinctive red dirt of Red Carpet Country to mountains, waterfalls, Indian Pow-Wows and Black Mesa, we have it all here in the Sooner State.
And we know there are a lot of AARP members out there who love to take photos. That’s why we’ve decided to take your best original photos and put together a special calendar for 2012 that shows off not only our state but also the talents of our members.
Think of it as an assignment to show off your state and your passion for photography at the same time. You love to spend time taking pictures and we want to see your best.
We’re looking for color photos that represent all the different parts of our state. Maybe it’s your favorite sunset in western Oklahoma or the beauty of the mountains in southeast Oklahoma. Maybe you have a photo of a storm in northern Oklahoma or a city skyline. Maybe you’ve got a great shot of an Indian event or even a photo of our state bird – the scissortail flycatcher – it’s really up to you to help us tell the story of Oklahoma in pictures.
We’ll pick 12 pictures that will be displayed at the AARP State Office and published in a calendar that will be distributed free to members state wide. Those photographers with photos included in the calendar will be invited to a luncheon in Oklahoma City where their photos will be unveiled.
Here are the rules:
All photos must be original and you must have ownership rights
Persons who submit photos must be willing to sign a photo waiver if their photo is selected giving AARP the right to display and publish their photo in a free calendar You must be an AARP member and 50+
Photos will be selected at the discretion of AARP Oklahoma
There is no purchase necessary and no cash award for photos selected.
