by Will Yandik - 6/01/2011 AARP Connecticut invites boomer women to volunteer to help others make sound . AARP will host two orientation sessions this month for interested volunteers and will provide ongoing training and support as they schedule presentations for community groups. Nationwide, women outlive men by five years on average. By age 75, nearly half of women live alone, and among people 75 and older, women are 60 percent more likely than men to need help with activities of daily living, such as eating, bathing, dressing or getting around inside the home.
