Ruchte completed his tenure as AARP Driver Safety State Coordinator in December 2011 after six years at the helm. Prior to serving in the top state position, Ruchte was an AARP Driver Safety instructor.
“I believe Quentin’s volunteer leadership experience with AARP Driver Safety gives him a unique perspective which will help us better support and engage our wonderful volunteers and achieve our goals for 2012 and beyond,” said Craig Eichelman, AARP Missouri state director.
Ruchte held positions in companies including J. C. Penney and Motorola before retiring from the real estate industry.
Sidney McCarther of Kansas City, and winner of the 2011 AARP Missouri Andrus Award for Community Service, will also have a position on the volunteer AARP Missouri Executive Council. “I’m excited to have Sidney add his perspective to our important work,” remarked Eichelman.
By joining the AARP Missouri EC, McCarther will relinquish his current leadership position as Congressional District Coordinator for Districts 5 and 6.
In addition to advisory roles, Executive Council members recommend and help create state level partnerships, monitor and help carry out the state plan through engagement and involvement. They are appointed by the Volunteer State President and serve two (2) years with the option by State President to renew twice, but not to exceed six (6) years.
Congratulations and best wishes for a successful tenure to Q and Sidney as new members of the AARP Missouri Executive Council!
