Looking for a meaningful volunteer project? AARP Oregon has ways to give back all over the state.

Hidden Hunger br

In Oregon, we are building a network of volunteers to focus on alleviating hunger, especially senior hunger, in support of Drive to End Hunger, an initiative by AARP and AARP Foundation traise awareness of the issue of senior hunger. AARP Oregon needs volunteer organizers in every corner of our state to coordinate local activities including special events and food drives to help fill the empty pantries of our state’s food banks. Whether you have 5 minutes, 5 hours or 5 days to volunteer, we need YOUR help! If you are interested, email us at .

Money Management Program br

If you can balance your own checkbook, you can help someone with theirs. The AARP Oregon Money Management Program provides financial management assistance to help low-income older or disabled adults who have difficulty budgeting, paying routine bills and keeping track of financial matters.

Tax Aide br

, the nation’s largest free, volunteer-run tax preparation and assistance service, is seeking volunteers across the state to help Oregon taxpayers who are seeking assistance preparing and filing their 2011 tax returns.

Volunteers do not need to be an AARP member or retiree to participate. Tax-Aide is particularly in need of volunteers who are bilingual in English/Spanish to support the increasing number of Spanish-speaking taxpayers seeking assistance

AARP Foundation Tax-Aide volunteers receive free tax training and are reimbursed on a limited basis for qualified program-related expenses. They help taxpayers at sites around the state, learning new skills while giving back to countless communities.

Find more information on how you can online (ENGLISH ONLY) or call our toll-free number, 1-888-OUR-AARP (1-888-687-2277). Deadline for application is December 15, 2010.
