This AARP survey explored the opinions of Arizona registered voters on retirement saving issues. Results revealed that two in three Arizona registered voters feel anxious about having enough money to live comfortably in retirement, and most wish they had more money saved for retirement. In addition, four in five are concerned that increases in their cost of living may reduce their standard of living. Nearly one in five Arizona registered voters reported that their employer does not offer a retirement savings plan. Survey results show strong support among Arizona voters for a state retirement savings program, and most agree that lawmakers should make it easier for workers to save for retirement.

Methodology

Interviews were conducted between September 17–October 3, 2021. The sample of 616 registered voters ages 25–64 was drawn from a registered voter list. Interviews were conducted via landline and cell phone. All data are weighted by age, gender, and race/ethnicity according to the October 2021 Arizona state voter database statistics.
