Webinar Financially Strong Resilient Communities
Watch a video presentation by Strong Towns and AARP Minnesota
After World War II, America changed the way it built communities. It adopted a development pattern that created modest, short term gains in exchange for enormous, long-term liabilities. This approach has trapped many communities in a trajectory of decline. Today, communities across America are buried in liabilities and struggling to meet basic demands. In this webinar, president Chuck Marohn shares how communities across the country are adopting Strong Towns principles to become financially strong and resilient. Building such a community involves people who care about a place and requires communities to commit to a portfolio of small projects to improve the daily lives of all citizens rather than large transformative projects. This session shows how communities can grow wealthier over time rather than be designed to decline, allowing future generations to inherit a community worth loving. Director Will Phillips shares possible applications for AARP state offices. WEBINAR DATE: March 5, 2019A-Z Archives
