What you pay for Medicare depends on your medical needs, whether you qualify for financial assistance and then what kind of Medicare policy you choose: original or traditional Medicare or a private insurance plan offered under the Medicare Advantage program (also know as Part C). If you enroll in traditional Medicare, you may also decide to purchase a supplemental or Medigap insurance policy to pay for things Medicare doesn’t cover. You may also qualify for financial assistance to reduce your share of the costs.
