A Savanna is a biome which is warmer than most biomes, but not quite as hot as a desert. A savanna is characterized by large expanses of dry grassy areas, with scattered acacia trees. It usually borders badlands. This biome is a great place to set up a home due to the easy availability of wood and the scattered villages would make trading easy.
The savanna is a warm biome as it is typically generated bordering a desert or plains biome, and has three variants in total. Villages and pillager outposts may be generated here. It is a flat, low-elevation plain with scattered acacia trees. Acacia and oak trees and tall grass constitute the vegetation seen in this biome.
There are 2 variants to this biome: one would be relatively flat with a few trees and tall grass, and the other would be extremely hilly. The hilly variant is called Savanna Plateau. However there is another incredibly rare variant which is called the Shattered Savanna which is characterized by very tall spikes of land and abnormal terrain. This is one of the few places where you can find coarse dirt.

Horses, donkeys and llamas spawn here. This is the only biome which spawns both horses and donkeys. Tamed horses come in handy when crossing this biome in case you encounter a hostile mob. Llamas serve as good pack animals. You may stumble upon villages which can serve as refuge.
Survival in this biome is generally easier than in other biomes as the scattered trees provide wood. The prominent obstacle to fighting hostile mobs would be the tall grass. They’re solid enough to block the hits intended for the hostile. Life in this biome would be relatively simple at least when compared to terrains like the Windswept savanna, which is a tricky place even for experienced players.
