Early Life and Career

br Marvin Vettori's combat sports journey started at age 13 when he started training in kickboxing. He later transitioned into and made his amateur debut in 2011 at Shooto Italy: Fight Night Project. Vettori defeated Marco Piotr Garatti in his debut but lost his next 2 amatuer fights. Following this, he turned professional in 2012. br Vettori made his professional MMA debut at New Generation Tournament 6 against Alessandro Grandis. Vettori lost the fight via unanimous decision. He bounced back from the loss and went on a 5-fight win streak before getting a title shot at the vacant UCMMA Welterweight Championship against Bill Beaumont at UCMMA 40. Vettori lost the fight via unanimous decision. br After this loss, Marvin signed with Venator FC and. He made his Venator debut at Venator FC Guerrieri Italiani tournament. Vettori defeated Anderson da Silva Santos in the quarterfinals and Giorgio Pietrini in the semifinals. Following this, he fought Daniele Scatizzi at Venator FC 1 for the Venator FC Welterweight Championship. Marvin won the fight to become the new Venator FC Welterweight Championship. Vettori then fought Jack Mason at Venator FC in his first title defense. Vettori missed weight for the bout and got stripped of the title. Due to this dominant run, he got a title shot at the UFC Middleweight Championship against Israel Adesanya at UFC 263.
