Akane, in childhood, used to be a mannerless and naughty kid who used to bully Inari. He stole Pochi from Inari, and when he gets bored of Pochi, he throws him in the water. Pochi swam back to the surface, whereas Inari drowned, but Kaiza saved him.
Akane and his friends don’t care about Inari, and when he is drowning, they leave him. After Kaiza gives him a lecture about his faults, Zori and Waraji learn that Inari and Akane are the kids of Bridge builders. They both kidnapped Inari and Akane along with his friends.
Akane and his friends started to cry and were scared because they thought the kidnappers would kill them, but Inari told them to stop crying, and somehow he was able to free them. Akane and his friend found Sasuke and Naruto and told them about the situation, and then they rescued Inari from Zori and Waraji.
Akane understood that he was wrong and promised Inari that he would never bully him or anyone else. Later, in Naruto: Shippuden, Akane, Inari, and his family came to Konoha to help them rebuild it after the Pain assault.
Akane was mean and rude when he was a kid. He used to show that he was tough, but when he got kidnapped, Akane was scared and started to cry. However, after he had been rescued, Akane changed into a good person, and later in Naruto: Shippuden, he helped Inari and his grandfather to build houses in Konoha.
He has short brown hair and dark colored eyes. In his childhood, he used to wear a builder helmet and a brown, blue shirt with green underskin cloth. He had a bandage on his nose and gloves.
He is a talented and skilled carpenter.
Both the color "madder" and the plant "Rubia tinctorum," specifically the Japanese species of said plant, "Rubia argyi" are referred to as "Akane."
