Daruma Izuno is a resident of (Village Hidden in the Leaves). He is a member of the renowned Izuno clan of Konoha and the son of the clan head, Izuno. He is also the father of Wasabi Izuno, the chunin of Team 15 in Boruto: Naruto Next Generations.

The details of Daruma's past are rather mysterious. Very little is known about his upbringing or his skills. In the anime, he only made a few brief appearances. He is just a part of the Boruto anime and does not appear or receive any mentions in the Boruto: Naruto Next Generations manga, making him a non-canon character in the series.
He made his anime debut in the Chunin Re-Examination Arc of Boruto: Naruto Next Generations in episode 222, "The Night Before the Final Round." The Chunin Exams were still going on when Wasabi entered the last round in the anime, but Daruma and the rest of his family still celebrated her promotion.
Daruma paid a visit to his daughter before her match at the chunin exam finals alongside Wasabi's mother and grandmother, Amagi Izuno, to compliment and express their confidence in Wasabi's ability. In the middle of the battle, Wasabi confessed to Iwabee Yuino her lack of self-confidence, the pressure she felt from not living up to her family's expectations, and the fact that she does not aim to become the Hokage of Konoha as her parents had intended for her. When Wasabi used the jutsu of their clan to save Iwabee, Daruma was proud of his daughter.
