At ONE Championship’s 10th-anniversary showcase ONE: X, the promotion broke new ground, delivering fans a unique mixed-rules bout between current flyweight world champion Demetrious Johnson and the flyweight Muay Thai titleholder Rodtang Jitmuangnon. It was a highly entertaining affair that saw the rules alternate between Muay Thai and MMA after each round. In an exclusive interview with Sportskeeda MMA, ‘The General’ shared his desire to face ‘Mighty Mouse’ in a mixed-rules bout, believing he will present a much tougher challenger for the pound-for-pound great than ‘The Iron Man’ did: "I said it when that fight got announced... I would definitely be a harder fight. My skillset is... more advanced on the ground than what Rodtang's is. All that takedown defense. My dad's got his own gym. I've been in the gym since I was a young boy, since I was like six or seven. I been growing up around MMA fighters, I've been joining classes." Demetrious Johnson went on to win the mixed-rules contest with Rodtang, submitting the Muay Thai icon in the second round after surviving the Muay Thai-only opening round.
