If it isn’t a rematch with John Lineker next, ‘Wonder Boy’ wants a different opponent as soon as possible. Fabricio Andrade is fresh off his world title bout with at ONE on Prime Video 3. In what started as an epic showdown between two of the best strikers in the division, the fight came to a crashing halt when Andrade accidentally threw a low blow. With the vacant belt up for grabs, Andrade doesn’t want to delay his next world title fight any longer. He spoke exclusively to about the subject: “I made it very clear that I want to get back to fighting soon. If [Lineker] is prepared, it can be against him. If he's not prepared, I want another opponent to fight for the belt. I want to take my belt.” With Lineker in recovery, it’s uncertain whether he’ll want to rematch Fabricio Andrade for the vacant belt anytime soon. In the meantime, ‘Wonder Boy’ has already made his list of potential opponents. Sitting at the top are ranked contenders Bibiano Fernandes, Stephen Loman, and Kwon Won Il. Bibiano and Loman are slated to face each other in November at ONE on Prime Video 4: Abbasov vs Lee. Unless one of the fighters withdraws from the bout for whatever reason, Andrade will have to wait to face the winner of that exchange. Meanwhile, current no. 4 ranked Kwon Won Il will also be in action in the same card. The South Korean slugger is set to face Filipino-Kiwi Mark Abelardo in a match that could also have implications in the divisional rankings. Whoever Fabricio Andrade fights next will certainly have their hands full as we have all seen what a motivated ‘Wonder Boy’ can do in a big fight.

Fabricio Andrade believes his claim for the vacant world title is legitimate

It’s easy to believe that if Fabricio Andrade didn’t land that ill-fated knee strike to the groin, he would have been the new face of the division. Unfortunately, the MMA Gods decided it wasn’t Andrade’s time to be king yet. However, Andrade will fight tooth and nail before seeing someone else take his place in a match for the vacant world title. In the last couple of days, Andrade has made it clear to the MMA world that he’s deserving of the gold and leather-bound strap, especially after putting on a dominant performance against John Lineker. The self-proclaimed “uncrowned king” told ONE: “If he doesn’t want to fight, and I believe he doesn’t want [to] anymore, especially after I picked him apart like that, give me another guy. I just want to get my title. Everybody knows I am the champion. I proved in this fight that me and Lineker are not on the same level.” Poll : 0 votes Quick Links More from Sportskeeda Thank You!
