The Bluejays (7-1-1) got on the board in the game's fourth minute as Jose Ribas sent a pass from the left sideline to the middle of the box, where Herbers headed it past UMKC keeper Chris McGaughey for his team-leading fifth goal of the season. Creighton got a key insurance goal with 4:42 remaining as Fernando Castellanos fired from 8 yards out into an open net after teammate Timo Pitter dribbled around and through a pair of Kanagroo defenders. It was the first carer goal by Castellanos and Pitter's team-leading fourth assist of the fall. The Blue Jays finished the evening with a 25-7 lead in shots and a 6-2 advantage in corner kicks. Sparrow, who played at UMKC as a freshman in 2012, earned his sixth shutout in nine starts to lower his season goals-against average to a scant 0.32. McGaughey made seven saves in net for UMKC.
