Williams is set to play her first singles match in almost a year. Venus Williams is understandably excited to make her singles return in the national capital, making her Citi Open debut in the process. Ahead of her debut at Rock Creek Park, the 42-year-old said that she loves DC and that her return to the city is akin to a homecoming. “I am excited to be playing the Citi Open for the first time this summer,” Williams. “I love Washington, DC, and returning to the nation’s capital to play in front of a community that has supported me so strongly feels like a homecoming.
