Mythgard Brings Fantasy To The Modern World With Valkyrie Bikers
Mythgard brings a fresh take on the CCG genre by combining ancient myths with modern technology. via Rhino Games Inc Mythgard Do you enjoy the concept of a Valkyrie biker gang? Then we might have the card game for you. It’s called , and right away you’ll get a sense there’s something different about this game. Yes, it’s a collectible card game that’s free to play, a la Hearthstone, and yes, it’s got a ton of magic and mythical beasties in it a la Magic: The Gathering. But it’s got a very cyberpunk-meets-fantasy vibe that you don’t find in modern games all that often. We don’t have the full story of what’s going on in Mythgard. It takes place in a modern-ish reimagining of the world where gods, myths, and magic never disappeared. Well, except for the most powerful deities--they’re all gone, but left behind were angels, demons, dragons, wyverns, minotaurs, giant fish, lava frogs, and yes, the aforementioned Valkyrie biker gang. THEGAMER VIDEO OF THE DAY via Rhino Games Inc Mythgard Developed by San Mateo-based Rhino Games, who drew inspiration from such titles as American Gods, Fables, Grimm, Harry Potter, and True Blood, Mythgard is a free-to-play digital CCG with a unique battle board and fluid tactical action. All of Mythgard's cards can be earned entirely through play, although we're sure you can buy cards too. It's also not just another game to play against people online. Mythgard will have PvE and PvP game modes, with a single-player campaign that will help new players learn the rules and earn some free cards. It is a little difficult to get around the comparison with Magic, though. There are color-associated factions, spells, enchantments, and artifacts, as well as "minions" that you summon to do your bidding. However, it doesn't look like you have lands or mana in the same way, while the board layout is also slightly different. We'll have to wait for the open beta to learn now Mythgard plays out. Currently, the game is in closed alpha and will wipe player progression once the open beta begins on September 19th. Mythgard will be available then to download on Steam, Android, or iOS.
