WoW Classic Race Guide Undead

As players are considering which class to play in the game, the Undead can be a great choice for future PvP content. Via: us.battle.net In all of , it may be fair to consider the as the most tormented and downtrodden of the races. As players are considering which class to play in the game, the Undead can be a great choice for the future PvP battlegrounds that will release, and always offer a variety of interesting ways to roleplay. No other race has come back from the dead, and that is certainly a great conversational ice breaker.

Lore

Following the events of , several undead fought to break free from the rule of the Lich King towards their own destiny. These became known as the Forsaken, and they were led by none other than the banshee Queen Sylvanas Windrunner. For their home, they took the desecrated ruins of Lordaeron and created a stronghold far beneath the ground in Tirisfal Glades. Here, the Undercity is home to many Forsaken, and it is the base of operations for Sylvanas Windrunner. THEGAMER VIDEO OF THE DAY Players are thrown into the perspective of a shocked character, back from the dead and coping with their decayed, and yet somehow, still functioning body. Some are missing patches of skin, others an entire lower jaw, leaving a tongue hanging out. We learn quickly that a second chance has been bestowed upon us, while other mindless undead are nothing more than shambling husks. In choosing an Undead character, we see the world differently than most. Via: us.battle.net

Racial Abilities

Although each race has perks when it comes to passive and active abilities, the Undead are more suited towards PvP thanks to what they are offered. This is contrary to other races that are suited more to PvE, such as Gnomes for their Expansive Mind, making them some of the best spellcasters in the game. Cannibalize — Consume a nearby Humanoid or Undead corpse within 5 yards to regenerate 7% of total health every 2 seconds for 10 seconds. It has a 2-minute cooldown. Shadow Resistance — Increases Shadow Resistance passively by 10. Underwater Breathing — You can hold your breath underwater for 300% longer than other races. Will of the Forsaken — While active, this provides immunity to all Charm, Fear, and Sleep effects. It lasts 5 seconds and has a 2-minute cooldown. Will of the Forsaken is the star here, making the Undead better suited for PvP than for PvE, at least at the highest levels of play. Anything that gives you an edge against opponents in the battleground is always popular, and this is a great racial ability for that reason. If you are planning on playing mostly solo, Cannibalize can be quite useful. A total of 35% health restored over ten seconds, and all you need is a humanoid corpse. This ability is largely ignored in the modern version of World of Warcraft, because heirloom gear makes characters overpowered, and many classes have access to some form of healing. However, an Undead Rogue will only have food and bandages to rely on, so the use of Cannibalize can be quite useful. Via: eu.battle.net

Available Classes

The Undead have access to a total of five classes in World of Warcraft: Classic, and are best suited for PvP if min/maxing a character is a priority. Mage — Unfortunately, none of the racial abilities assist Undead Mages in PvE content. As stated Will of the Forsaken is great only for PvP. Priest — Similar to Mages, Undead Priests gain nothing for PvE content, but are still popular for PvP. They will have access to Will of the Forsaken, Touch of Weakness, and Devouring Plague. Rogue — Although Will of the Forsaken is useful in PvP, Orcs can be better depending on who they face. As Orcs have a natural resistance to Stuns, but also access to a DPS burst through Blood Fury (Increases base melee attack power by 25% for 15 sec and reduces healing effects on you by 50% for 25 seconds), Undead Rogues are basically only chosen for their aesthetics. Warlock — Undead Warlocks fall into the same category as Priests and Mages, meaning they are fine in PvP, but subpar for PvE. Warrior — Will of the Forsaken is again the only PvP benefit here. Undead are the weakest choice for tanking as a Warrior due to the lack of stun resistance and no weapon specialization. These points may paint the Undead race as a bad choice for character classes, but it must be repeated that these pros and cons affect only the most elite levels of play. The large majority of players are not likely to ever have an issue with an Undead character that could magically be solved by another race. Top guilds in the world, however, will absolutely want a one or two percent overall increase to their DPS.

Racial Mount

Humans are stuck with boring looking horses, while the Undead get spooky Skeletal Horses. We may not ever attain Baron Rivendare’s mount, but these are still quite nice. Blue Skeletal Horse — 80 gold, 72 with reputation discount Brown Skeletal Horse — 80 gold, 72 with reputation discount Red Skeletal Horse — 80 gold, 72 with reputation discount Green Skeletal Warhorse — 1000 gold, 900 with reputation discount Purple Skeletal Warhorse — 1000 gold, 900 with reputation discount Via: youtube.com (zarmeros zarm) Although the Undead seems more attuned to PvP than to PvE, they are still a great race to play purely for the harsh lore that has been given to them. We know later on that the Forsaken are constantly facing some manner of internal struggles, particularly seen in the double-cross of the Alliance and Horde on the assault on the Lich King. If you are seeking a race that has been through hell and dragged back to life for another go at this life, look no further than the Undead!
