Dragons Have Landed In Harry Potter Wizards Unite

Dragons have joined Harry Potter: Wizards Unite as regional spawns similar to those of Pokémon GO. Since launch, has had fans stoking the rumor mill, with speculation as to when Dragons would make an in-game appearance. Wait no more! Over the last weekend of August, Wizards Unite held its first '' (similar to Pokemon Go's 'Go Fest') in Indianapolis Indiana. With it, Dragons swooped in! The festival introduced four different breeds, to become region exclusives after the event's close. That's not all; progress made throughout earned several in-game rewards, available to players across the globe. Attendee efforts also determined which breed of Dragon would head the additional global event, "Day of the Dragons." THEGAMER VIDEO OF THE DAY AR screen capture of a Chinese Fireball. Photo credit: Kim Dailey Upon arriving at the event venue, players were greeted in-game by Charlie Weasley- the renowned Dragonologist- who announced that the Calamity has now made off with Dragons! The species at large are the Chinese Fireball, the Welsh Green, the Peruvian Vipertooth, and the elusive Antipodean Opaleye. Wizards united throughout the two day event, completing a stream of 'Special Assignments' including collecting Dragon Eggs from Portkeys and battling various Dragons within Oddity encounters. After the event's close, the Dragons began journeys back to their native regions. You can find your native species at the Harry Potter: Wizards Unite . Global bonuses earned throughout the festival, were activated on September 2nd, remaining active until September 9th. Photo Credit: Kim Dailey The greatest reward unlocked, was the additional three hour global event 'Day of the Dragons', on September 7th. This in-game event offered a chance at encountering one Dragon breed from another region. Efforts made at the festival determined the Chinese Fireball would migrate to the various regions- its native region recieving sightings of the Antipodean Opaleye instead! These string of in-game events and rewards have been a success amongst avid fans. With an appearance from a beloved Weasley and several familiar Dragons from the books, there's plenty for fans of the to latch onto! The Fan Festival also built a stronger community base, through various co-op assignments and unlocking global rewards for all to enjoy. Many Pokemon Go players had been contemplating how 'regionals' might translate into Wizards Unite, when Wizards was centered around stolen memories, as opposed to creature-types and correlating habitat. Some gripe, concerning Dragons' regional exclusivity, when Oddity Foundables are already rare. One opposition is that Dragons are already naturally regionalized- in the Wizarding world- and would not be seen flying about everywhere. Others argue that travel is heavily encouraged by - the developer for both games- and could even be considered a requirement of the game. Source:
