The Witcher 3 A Guide To The Location Of Every Blacksmith & Their Levels

Witcher 3 has been a successful franchise and a big part is weapons and blacksmiths. Let's take a look at every location where every blacksmith is. Blacksmiths are an important part of your journey through . They will craft weapons for you after you retrieve the right crafting materials and schematics. There are three main levels of Blacksmiths, Amateurs, Journeyman, and Master. The Journeyman Blacksmiths can create higher-level weapons than the Amateur-ranked Blacksmiths. The Master Blacksmiths are the rarest and create top-notch weapons you can't get elsewhere. Keep in mind that Blacksmiths cannot craft armor, only the Armorers can do that. Blacksmiths will also pay more money for weapons than Armorers and Armorers will pay more for armor. Many of the Blacksmiths in the game will also sell runestones but sometimes you might have to progress a little farther into the story before they become available to you. It's always worth checking Blacksmith inventories more than once because sometimes they change throughout the game. We've created a handy guide to finding all the Blacksmiths located in the game along with their level and any other interesting information you might want on them with help from the . THEGAMER VIDEO OF THE DAY

White Orchard

The first Blacksmith you'll encounter in the game is in the prologue, or when you're in White Orchard. He is the Quartermaster located at the Garrison. He is located in the downstairs area when you reach the location. He is an Amateur Blacksmith, which won't matter much since early in the game you won't have any high-level schematics anyway. He begins selling runestones after you complete the prologue.

Velen

Velen is one of the first big areas you'll go to when beginning your search for Ciri. There are four Blacksmiths spread out through the region, all of them are Amateur ranked. The Blacksmith in Blackbough plays Gwent if you're interested. He also sells Adalbert Kermith's second map, which is a quest item. Speaking of Gwent, the majority of Blacksmiths you encounter will play it. It's a good idea to take them up on it if you can because they often compete with unique decks and you can win yourself some good cards if you excel at the game. Different Blacksmiths from different regions have decks unique to the area they live in. Those in Velen will probably play with cards unlike those you encounter in Skellige, for example. There is also a Blacksmith located in Lindenvale, Oreton, and in the area nearest Bald Mountain. The Lindenvale Blacksmith also plays Gwent and sells scavenger hunt maps for School of Cat and School of Wolf Gear. You'll need to complete the Bald Mountain quest before the Blacksmith will show up there.

Novigrad

The Novigrad Fish Market houses one of the main Blacksmiths you'll visit while in this region. He also plays Gwent, if you'd like to challenge him to a match. His ranking is Journeyman. Another Blacksmith in Novigrad is located in the Silverton district, he also plays Gwent but his ranking is only Amateur. Finally, you'll find an elven Master Blacksmith named Éibhear Hattori. He resides on Glory Lane. You'll need to complete the side quest "Of Swords and Dumplings" to gain access to his skills.

Oxenfurt

Oxenfurt is a small region that you may not even visit unless you follow a certain path on the Bloody Baron's quest. It is a small region so there is only one Blacksmith located there but he is a Journeyman and he also plays Gwent. If your goal is to challenge every Gwent player in the game you'll need to visit him.

Skellige

As one of the largest regions in the game, Skellige has the most Blacksmiths available, but most of them are only Amateur ranked. Sigurd is one of the first you'll meet in Arinbjorn. He plays Gwent. Then you'll encounter Blacksmiths in Harviken, Larvik, Fayrlund, Svorlag, Urialla Harbor, and Fyresdal. You'll need to free the Fayrlund Blacksmith from a bandit to use his skills, and he also plays Gwent. All the other Blacksmiths listed above play Gwent too. Only the Blacksmiths located at Kaer Muire and the Kaer Trolde citadel are at Journeyman level. Yanne, the Kaer Trolde smith, sells the Skellige Armor set and as is a given at this point, both the Journeyman smiths play Gwent.

Kaer Morhen

Zoltan Chivay is an old friend of Geralt's that you'll meet fairly early on in the game during a questline. RELATED: Later on, he'll become an ally to and he will set up shop as a Blacksmith at Kaer Morhen. His level will only be Amateur unfortunately but he's a helpful addition to the area.

Toussaint

You won't go to Toussaint unless you purchase the Blood and Wine DLC. It's an entirely new region introduced to the game. There are five new Blacksmiths introduced in Toussaint. You'll meet another Master Blacksmith in the Belgaard Vineyard. Before you're able to use his services, you'll need to rescue him from some bandits first. You'll also find an interesting Blacksmith at the Arthach Palace Ruins, he is an Amateur. He is one of the few Blacksmiths in the game that doesn't play Gwent. You'll get some intriguing conversation starters with this Blacksmith that are worth pursuing to get clues on diagrams and expand your knowledge of lore. You'll meet another Amateur Blacksmith at the Ardaiso Quarry, he sells a lot of mining-related crafting items. A Journeyman Blacksmith resides at the Tourney Grounds. He plays Gwent. Finally, you'll be able to meet with two other Master Blacksmiths, one of which is actually a Grandmaster. The first one, named Trentin, is associated with the quest "Till Death Do You Part." If you complete it and decide to help Charles Lanzano, you'll be able to discuss the possibility of getting a rare sword with Trentin. You'll need to investigate a cemetery and find out what dwells there. Then there is the Grandmaster himself, Lazare Lafargue. He is a Grandmaster Armorer and Blacksmith. His workshop is located in Hauteville. There are a number of quests associated with Lazare including the "Master Master Master Master!" sidequest a number of scavenger hunts. If you manage to complete them all you'll be rewarded with some amazing armor and weapons.
