2019 provided gamers with a ton of memorable and fun titles that will likely continue to thrive in the coming years. These were our favorite titles. 2019 provided gamers with a ton of memorable and fun titles that will likely continue to thrive in the coming years. While we are certainly an eclectic group of writers with different tastes and #1 picks, it was Resident Evil 2 that was mentioned most in our lists, earning the title out TheGamer's Game of the Year for 2019. via DenOfGeek The classic remake totally revitalized our love for the game and series overall. Pretty much everything about it was well-executed... and, I mean, c'mon. The addition of the beloved Tofu Survivor should be enough to make any Game of the Year list. Here are the rest of our favorite titles of the year. , feel free to keep the trolly comments flowing on our social media pages, as we do indeed feed off your hatred. THEGAMER VIDEO OF THE DAY

5. Trover Saves The Universe 4. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. Mortal Kombat 11 1. The biggest robbery of the 2019 Game Awards? A Plague Tale: Innocence not winning anything. Sure, the game wasn't perfect, but in terms of an original single-player narrative, the game was unmatched in its story and emotional impact. Disturbing enough to make me never want to to play it again, but fun enough to make me consider it, A Plague Tale: Innocence will never get the credit it deserves. Maybe its sequel will finally bring more players aboard, though.

5. Untitled Goose Game 4. Dead by Daylight 3. Luigi’s Manion 3 1.

5. Catherine: Full Body 4. Luigi’s Mansion 3 3. Resident Evil 2 1. via Nintendo Life

5. Apex Legends 4. DJMAX Respect V 3. Last Labyrinth 1. Resident Evil 2 This year has been a boon for the medium, and frankly, it's hard to pick just five games that I fell in love with (sorry, Pokemon!) But from top-notch fighters to tripped-out techno-thrillers, from RPG masterpieces to ornate remakes, one game edges everything out.

5. Life Is Strange 2 4. The Outer Worlds 3. Crash Team Racing: Nitro-Fueled 1. Planet Zoo is one of the most advanced simulation games I've ever played. While it isn't perfect, it's pretty close and is paving the way for the sim genre. There is a depth we’ve never seen in both graphics and gameplay, which allows players to feel truly connected to the world they are building. Planet Zoo will take you into your environment in a brand new way, all while raising awareness of important issues through an engaging and enjoyable game.

5. Call of Duty Mobile 4. Battle Chasers: Nightwar 3. Cadence of Hyrule: Crypt of the NecroDancer Featuring The Legend of Zelda 1.

5. Resident Evil 2 4. Monster Hunter: Iceborne 3. Telling Lies 1. via Bungie Shadowkeep

5. Children of Morta 4. Control 3. Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice 1. Via: zaumstudio.com

5. Pokemon Sword & Shield 4. Apex Legends 3. The Outer Worlds 1.

5. Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order 4. World of Warcraft: Classic 3. Pokemon Sword & Shield 1. Apex Legends made a powerful debut Q1 of 2019, EA opting for a bold “no marketing” tactic. Embodying the trends of 2019 by building on the popular battle royale genre, Apex Legends released on Windows, PS4, and Xbox One for free. Streamers contributed to the game’s success, but players stuck around due to the unique incorporation of ability-based heroes and a wonderfully addicting set of movement mechanics. Apex barely edges this one out due to Respawn’s slow-moving developmental support, but the fact that competitives and casuals alike have stuck around is a testament to the game’s impressive fundamentals.

5. Wargroove 4. Super Mario Maker 2 3. Mortal Kombat 11 1. via Steam
