Classic WoW 10 Low-Level Potions for High-Level Players

Even if you're a high-level Classic World of Warcraft player, these ten low-level potions can help you advance in your playthrough. When it comes to the endgame of , it's about consumables just as much as gear quality and spell rotation or talent tree abilities. There are that are part of the required gear for raiding and PvP, but not all of the useful potions in Classic WoW are made and used by level 60 players. A player doesn't have to visit the lab in Scholomance to make a potion that gives that crucial spell buff, strengthens the armor, or gives them an extra edge in the battleground. Some of the most useful potions in the game are mid to low level concoctions that Alchemists know well before they reach raiding level. THEGAMER VIDEO OF THE DAY

Blackmouth Oil

This is one of the earliest recipes that Alchemists learn, requiring only a level 80 skill, and all that's needed are Oily Blackmouths and empty vials. It's so simple that it's easy to overlook, but this is an essential reagent for some of the more popular recipes. You don't have to be an Alchemist to fish these up, either, just a beginning . If you do have a stack, put them on the Auction House before you vendor or toss them.

Fire Oil

Fire Oil is a bit more popular than other low-level components, as it has a variety of uses. Alchemists use this component several useful recipes, like the Elixir of Firepower and the Fire Protection Potion, but it's also used by and Enchanters. Fire Oil is included in most recipes that require fire resistance or to strengthen fire spells. The reagent is also a fish, the Firefin Snapper, and Alchemists with a skill level of 130 can make it.

Oil of Immolation

It sounds like another ingredient that's made from a fish, but there's actually no fish involved in this recipe, and there's one other important difference. This potion isn't a potion at all but the closest thing that Alchemists can make that's similar to a bomb. Oil of Immolation works in a similar way to the dynamite an Engineer can make, creating a circle of airborne damage around the user. An Alchemist needs a skill level of 205 to learn this recipe.

Elixir of Water Breathing

The Forsaken don't care, since they have an extension to the amount of time they can hold their breath, and Warlocks have a special ability that grants breathing for 10 minutes. Everyone else is looking for this potion, which is amazingly useful and only requires level eight to use. Alchemists need a skill level of 90 to make it and it doesn't require a Herbalism skill to find the regents. Blackmouth Oil and the seaside herb, Stranglekelp, both can be acquired through fishing.

Restorative Potion

This is a unique recipe as it's learned via a quest chain instead of from a trainer or a scroll. However, it's such a useful potion made with mid-level ingredients, even Alchemists that have already leveled well past their 40s will return to the Badlands zone and finish this quest. Players that are not Alchemists are given a stack of potions as a reward for completing the first two quests. Only Alchemists can do that teaches the recipe.

Free Action Potion

The Free Action Potion is in the same category as the Restorative Potion. It has similar properties but the reagents are easier to find if you're not an Alchemist. Like one of its key components, Blackmouth Oil, you only need a fishing skill to find the ingredients for a potion that can make the difference during an important fight. All that's required is an Alchemy skill of 150, barely beyond Journeyman level. The Free Action potion makes the imbiber immune to virtually all movement impairing effects, including infamous crowd-control abilities like Sap or Sheep. One major drawback is that the potion has to be taken in advance and won't remove any effects already cast on the player.

Swiftness Potion

It's because of this potion that the market for Swifthistle, a low-level herb found throughout starter areas, is so expensive. The recipe is elusive too, a random drop from virtually any mob anywhere in the vast expanse of the Barrens. A player can learn this at level 15 with an Alchemy skill of 60 and use it as early as level 5, so it's really a potion that almost anyone can enjoy, and it's generally used .

Elixir of Poison Resistance

Poison is what happens when fighting spiders, zombies, afflicted Druids, or . It's also one of the key components of spells that deal Nature damage. That covers most of the wild denizens throughout Azeroth, especially the Furbolgs of the northern zones and the Undead of the Plaguelands. A Nature Protection potion can help you quest and level more than other resistance potions, which are more situational at lower levels. Alchemists only need a level of 190 to make it. Compare that with the Greater version of this potion, which requires a level of 48 to use and an Alchemy skill of 290 to craft, and it's easy to see why the earlier version of this potion has a wider appeal.

Cat s Eye Elixir

If you're fighting Druids and Rogues, which probably means PvP, then this is one of the best options to have. The Cats Eye elixir enhances the player's ability to detect Stealth, an ability used by both Druids and Rogues. It can also break through the Night Elf racial ability, Shadow Meld. Warlocks already have a similar ability connected to their Felhunter pet, which has a higher than average stealth detection. Everyone else needs to find an Alchemist with a level of 200 to make it for them.

Stonescale Oil

Another fish oil reagent, this one is learned at higher levels. Alchemists learn to make Stonescale Oil at a skill level of 250, which is pretty high. It's not just about the Flask of the Titans either, a max-level potion that Tanks especially love. Stonescale Oil is also used to make a series of potions that improve a character's armor level, such as the Elixir of Superior Defense. A character needs a high level of Alchemy to make this, at least 265 but can use it as low as level 43. NEXT:
