Digimon The Heaviest Digimon In The Series Ranked

Digimon come in all shapes and sizes, but some of them stand out more than others. Here are the heaviest in the series, ranked. Many millennials grew up in a time of exceptional animation. From things like and to anime like and , the generation had many formative shows. But none strike such nostalgic resonance like and its direct competitor: . With such similar initial concepts (kids working with creatures toward goals), those unfamiliar with the series may not give it a second glance. But that's a huge mistake because Digimon does better than Pokémon. The Heavy or Mega digivolutions are some of the toughest creatures and coolest designs bar none. From generation one to , which Mega digivolutions take the top spots? THEGAMER VIDEO OF THE DAY

Heavy Leomon

Announced only in April, this latest addition to the list of Heavy or Mega Digimon evolutions is of a long-time fan favorite Digimon: Leomon. With initial designs floated around earlier on, Heavy Leomon evolves from Grappu Leomon and appears in . YouTuber does a full deep dive into his strengths and weaknesses with PVP in the game. But the nostalgia of those who remember the nuanced and courageous Leomon from generation one Digimon will appreciate this throwback and his powerful unique abilities.

Skull Meramon

Skull Meramon (or Skull Meramon in the U.S.) packs a serious punch and has unique digivolving abilities. It evolves from BlueMeramon, Meramon, and Wizardmon, and can evolve into Boltmon, Gankoomon, and Beelzemon who is one of the Seven Great Demon Lords called the "Duelist of Finality". But this list changes from the shows to the Encased in blue flame, Death Meramon isn't weak to ice/snow and aquatic Digimon like his direct predecessor Meramon. It can even melt metal and then spit it out at the enemy as an attack.

VenomMyotismon

VenomMyotismon is known canonically as an evil Digimon. In fact, it is considered a virus with attacks such as Venom Infusion, Chaos Flame, and Venom Beam. Armed with extreme destructive instincts and a monstrous form, this Digimon appears many times in the Digimon franchise. While not the heaviest of the heavy creatures, VenomMyotismon represents the ultimate form of the king of darkness (). It often appears as an initial boss as in Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth - Hacker's Memory. Though working for GranDracmon, it is still a key part of their plan to take over the world.

Arcadiamon Arkadimon Mega Ultimate and Ultra

The Bewitching Beast is also a Virus and has many forms, culminating in its dastardly Ultra digivolution. It is artificial and made of other Digimon's data. Seen as dangerous due to a potential lack of identity, many view it as the biggest threat to the Digital World. In its origins, it has something in common with , as well. All three digivolutions have a matrix attack (dot and then god matrix). These attacks convert foes into data which then feeds Arcadiamon. That makes its destructive capabilities distinct and substantial.

Fanglongmon

Known in Japan as Huanglongmon, Fanglongman is an emperor Digimon and a Holy Dragon (in the middle of the above photo). It is a creature of good and evil covered in scales so hard that you cannot inflict damage to it. Similarly to Zeno in the recent entries, Fanglongmon can destroy the Digital World on a whim with Taikyoku if it wants to, wielding twelve DigiCores on its back. Its other moves include Dragon Smash, Oukai or a huge typhoon disaster, and Koutei no Kiba or "Fang of the Emperor" attack. For these reasons, Lucemon sealed it away to protect the realm.

Apocalymon

Comprised of negative thoughts, Apocalymon wields a plethora of attacks thanks to its giant polyhedron shaped (and detachable) body. Not only can it force Digimon to digivolve back into their base forms, but it has copied attacks like Giga Cannon and Virus Grenades. It serves as the main antagonist in Digimon Adventure, motivated by envy and sadness due to its destiny to die. It seems to want to make all worlds into dark underworlds. Though Fanglongman could destroy the Digital World, Apocalymon threatens multiple dimensions with his "Total Annihilation" attack. Thankfully, he has to sacrifice himself for that attack to work.

WarGreymon WarGreymon X

Fans of the series will instantly recognize this Digimon as WarGreymon, the storied digivolution of Tai's companion Augumon. A Vaccine, Warrior, and Dragon type, WarGreymon is very powerful against Dramon types with dual Dramon Killers equipped on its arms. He also has at least some grey in his design unlike . It can defend with Brave Shield, slash enemies with Mega Claw, or concentrate fire using Terra Force. It has a number of other attacks, as well, making WarGreymon versatile and capable across many situations. WarGreymon X is similar in that it is also a Heavy or Mega Digimon, but carries the X-Antibody.

Imperialdramon

Speaking of Dramon types, Imperialdramon features three main forms: Dragon, Fighter, and Paladin. You can see Fighter (left) and Paladin (right) here with Dragon Mode being an ultimate from ancient times. However, as with Apocalymon, prophecies foretold of Imperialdramon Paladin Mode's coming. Paladin Mode is similar to Fighter Mode, but obtained the power of Omnimon, the holy knight. It is the final and strongest version of Imperialdramon and also a "good guy" who is also incredibly powerful. Using the Omni Blade, it can slash any enemy with ease to reset and clear their data.

Omnimon X

Another connection: Omnimon was one of the Royal Knights and a Warrior Digimon who could use abilities similar to WarGreymon's. But Omnimon X carries the X-Antibody and wields abilities similar to MetalGarurumon instead. Both use the power of two bodies, but Omnimon X's enhancements allow for increased stats and performance. But the Omega inForce DigiCore is what truly puts Omnimon X over the top. It can predetermine the moves of its enemies and react beforehand. Many fans consider its "All Delete" attack to be the most OP attack in the entire series.

ZeedMillenniummon

ZeedMillenniummon is a truly unnerving Digimon that intends to rule all the worlds and can freely move through space and time to do so. Born from the death of a dark Digimon, this Evil God bears enchanted chains to prevent it from destroying the Digital World. Similarly to Dormammu in , it exists at all points in time and space. It can banish you to infinite purgatory and then collapse that dimension with "Dimension Destroyer". With such terrifying power, it's no wonder that ZeedMillenniummon is the final boss in Digimon Tamers: Brave Tamer.
