And there are prizes to be won by Share: on Launching next month on Nintendo Switch is , a retro-styled arcade platformer that takes more than a little inspiration from . Aiming to replicate the retro feel and addictive one-more-go-style gameplay seen in Nintendo's classic, the game features 22 levels spread out over four different stages. You only have three lives to beat the entire game, so this really does sound like a true, retro-like experience. Share: About Ryan can list the first 151 Pokémon all in order off by heart – a feat he calls his ‘party trick’ despite being such an introvert that he’d never be found anywhere near a party. He’d much rather just have a night in with Mario Kart and a pizza, and we can’t say we blame him. Comments ) I'm not just getting DK vibes. This is pure C64 platforming in general. Way to make me nostalgic! Not the Donkey Kong I'd want games to be inspired by, sadly. Looks absolutely terrible, will give this a miss thanks. Indie devs. Please. Stop doing this and make something "new." The charm of this sort of thing has almost entirely worn off. Hard pass on this Gonna say no to this shovelware. Methinks the devs should have used that reward money for game development instead. Not worth the space on my microSD card. Guys don't buy this game whether on PC or Switch, this dev is literally giving your money to whoever won the contest. For porting this game to Switch and not allowing Switch players to participate but still use their money for the contest is just insulting. Don't buy it. It seems even the naming of characters follow that "Jumperman and Lady" creativity Nintendo doesn't own the word "Kong". The original King Kong came out in 1933, so Kong has been a big part of pop culture for a long time. Yeah... no, just no. Thanks, but no thanks. Couldn't agree more. I'm well past fed up with pixel-art or 8 or 16 bit inspired stuff, that doesn't even remotely look or feel like the actual thing it's supposed to be inspired by... Mr Do's Castle? Yes please! I loved playing that even though it seemed pretty tough. I was much better at the original Mr Do, a true classic. Both near arcade-perfect versions on 8-bit Atari system. Lazy graphics, zero design direction. Looks like an amateur flash game. It is a great movie, worth a rewatch when you have the time. Cheers! If this was more like DK94 on Game Boy, I'd be all for it! Is no one going to mention the villain looks kinda like Billy Mitchell? can't really tell much by that youtube video, but maybe is the gameplay any good? i'll keep an eye on this one It's looks like an expanded version of the original Donkey Kong, which I honestly quite enjoyed when I played the Gameboy virtual console version on the 3ds. I think this game could be a fun and innovative take on the original Donkey Kong you said what I came here to say! DK94 is a brilliant game. This just plain sucks. This is not like Bug Fables that took the Paper Mario formula and built upon it. Castle Kong is a straight up clone right down to the freaking logo. Shame this isn't a game in the DK '94 style instead. I think it looks cool. Will wait for a sale tho. Leave A Comment Hold on there, you need to to post a comment...
