But sometimes, media makes mistakes that can cost the entities big time. Woods once shared his true feelings about his media coverage. In 2015, had a one-on-one interview with TIMES and talked about his career and life. He expressed his struggles. During the interview, he was asked to describe his feeling about the media coverage that he gets…His thoughts about it and how he deals with it. Woods has had some rough experiences in the past. Woods said no one could trust the news they put out. They aren’t accountable. They don’t have a source, nor do they talk to many players before coming on to any conclusion. Some announcers never even visit a golf course. All their news comes from the pin sheet from the booth, and they never survey the golf course. He , “There’s no accountability in what they say. And what they say, it’s like it’s gospel.” Even though the media people can come in early and watch the rounds and how players are playing but they don’t do that. That was why the TV coverage starts in the afternoon. And the only person who followed this was former PGA Tour pro, Ian Baker-Finch. Other media incidents that Woods had to endure
That was not the only unpleasant experience Woods had with media. Once, he and his family were forced to spill their personal details, which Woods did not like. In 2009, Woods had a car accident and was in his recovery phase. He needed some time to mend his fence, and he was not obligated to say anything to the media but rest. Instead of that, the media bombarded him with tons of questions. Some people wanted their 15-minutes of fame, and a woman claimed that she had an alleged relationship with Woods for 31 months. The media broadcasted this information, and unfortunate questions surrounded Woods. He finally understood the tabloid scrutiny.
