Phoebe

At first glance, Phoebe looks like a fabulously colorful bird villager and she has the Big Sister personality type, so she comes across as really caring too. However, as soon as you enter into her home, you realize she is literally living in hell. Clearly, there is a darker side to this bird than players first assumed. Players believe she might be a reference to the mythical creature of the Phoenix, which goes some way to explain having a fiery home, but this hellish landscape is hard to forget.

Raddle

Raddle is a frog villager who falls into the lazy personality category. Raddle always wears a surgical mask and his default outfit is the Doctor's Coat. While you might just think he's a doctor, his coloring suggests he's a poison dart frog, making him a little darker. Additionally, his New Horizons home looks rather lab-like and his New Leaf home featured a gurney with straps to hold someone down, leading fans to believe he's not the kind of doctor you'd want. Raddle appears to be more of a Dr. Frankenstein character, so perfect for a gothic island.

Ankha

Ankha is a who has the appearance of an Egyptian with her coloring and snake hairpiece being inspired by Tutankhamun's funeral mask. Additionally, Tutankhamun could be where Ankha's name comes from, as it is the middle portion of the pharaoh's name. As the snooty type, Ankha can be quite rude and condescending at times, as well as often talking about herself. Ankha's house is also made to look like an Egyptian tomb, which gives off those perfect creepy vibes to complete your island spookfest.

Coco

Coco is a villager that normally divides players, with some finding her kind of cute, but others not being able to see past her kind of gyroid-like face. Other than her hollow face, her dress sense and house decor are actually pretty normal, which might make you wonder why she'd fit in on a gothic island. However, don't be fooled by the cute facade. Coco's design is based on a Japanese Haniwa figure, arguably the same source of inspiration for Gyroids too. Haniwa are small clay figures used in funeral rites, making Coco the perfect addition to your gothic getaway.

Lucky

Lucky is one of the most popular villagers when it comes to Animal Crossing and it's not hard to see why as he's an adorable mummy-styled , with only one eye peering out from between his bandages. This makes Lucky one of the ideal candidates for a gothic-themed island, especially as his house is also super creepy and made to look like a cemetery. His favorite song is K.K. Dirge, which he rather fittingly plays in his house. Lucky's personality is the lazy type, which just makes him even more adorable.

Mathilda

Most of the kangaroo villagers look sweet and welcoming, especially because they are all mothers! Carrying their joeys around at all moments, there's no way they would make a slip of the tongue or be downright scary... Right? Well, Mathilda is one of the scariest looking kangaroo villagers. And her baby goes right up there with her! Mathilda is a Snooty Scorpio who, most of the time, looks like she's planning to put a curse on you. Her and her joey's red eyes will be right at home in a gothic kingdom.

Apollo

Without his jacket Apollo may look a bit bland, but by George does his jacket make him one cool sun of a gun. He is a Cranky villager who wears a black leather jacket and probably listens to some hardcore rock and roll. Coming off Snooty at first, he will fit in with other... less enthusiastic villagers like himself. Apollo is an angry Cancer who could use some like-wise neighbors at his side.

Kabuki

Kabuki has a very unique character design and name, rooting in a decades-old specific type of Japanese theatre. His "face paint" is a take on the makeup they would use in such plays. He offers a dramatic and interesting look. As a Cranky villager, it might be hard for fellow neighbors to warm up to him, but as the player, it's hard to hate a cute little cat. Kabuki is a Sagittarius waiting to be invited in!

Cherry

Some people may want villagers that fit into their -themed island without them having rude personalities, so presented here is Cherry! Looking very punk and hip, one might assume Cherry would have a Smug or Cranky personality. Instead, she is sisterly and very sweet! Cherry is very agreeable to you and other villagers. Her hot pink fur mixed with black couldn't scream punk any louder. This Taurus is ready to rock.

Eugene

A smug, fluffy boy wearing sunglasses. What more could one ask for? Off the bat, someone wearing sunglasses and a black jacket isn't necessarily gothic nor punk, but the overall vibe that Eugene has is sure to fit in. His personality and dark colors will match that of other punk-looking villagers as well as your decorated island. His sign falling into a Scorpio is the icing on the cake.

Rasher

Rasher has a very fun design, being a magenta pig with scars. His scarred up face and slight smile reak of an epic, rock on dude that you just gotta be friends with. He is a cranky Aries that has a thing for race cars, as you can see by the inside of his house. You're missing out of you don't get Rasher on your dark, shadowy island.

Roscoe

Another dark villager with piercing red eyes. Roscoe may be a dark horse with a Cranky personality, but his general expression seems inviting and friendly enough. He is a Gemini. If you think of one thing that would go in a windy and gloomy island, it would be a black, noble steed!

Rodeo

Rodeo goes under creepy looking villagers that don't have off-putting personalities. This here bull looks as if he is possessed, for crying out loud! Though some ancient spirit may live inside him secretly, Rodeo has aand cute personality you may learn to love. Adding another Scorpio to the list, how could you not want some glowing-eyed villagers walking around?

Muffy

This right here is a fan favorite, fitting gothic-lolita to the T with her character design. Muffy looks as if she came right out of a Victorian mansion to speak to us, lowly peasants. She is an Aquarius who is , meaning she is friendly and will get along well with other villagers. Muffy comes off as inviting and sweet while still offering that dark-vibe.

Hopper

This penguin looks like something went wrong in Happy Feet. He, too, has bulging red eyes that will make your island all the more creepy. Hopper wears a very fashionable dragon shirt which somehow matches his bushy penguin eyebrows. He is a Cranky Aries that will warm up to you if you get to know him!
